Level 6 Full Contact Trainer - Muay Thai
Certified Referee - World Kickboxing Association (WKA)

I started Zen Do Kai in May 1983 under the teachings of Kyoshi Justin Boylan who is now one of the highest ranked martial artists in Australia.

I become Kyoshi Justin's first Black Belt in 1984 and opened my school in 1985. Over the years since, I have presented 15 of my students with their Black Belt and/or equivalent rank in our Muay Thai system.

My Martial Arts experience outside of the dojo has been Security related. I ran a security company for a number of years protecting nightclub venues in Perth. I have also done bodyguard and backstage security for performers such as Jimmy Barnes, Divinyls, The Angels, World Wresting Federation (WWF) and various concert festivals.

I have periodically performed Martial Arts Demonstrations to large audiences including an appearance on Channel 7's Today Tonight program in 1996.

I have trained various full contacted Muay Thai fighters over the years including one Australian State Title Holder and others that have won in Thailand. I am also a certified Referee, Ringside Official and MC at these events.

I moved to Melbourne in 2012 and currently teach both Modern Freestlye Karate and Muay Thai at Port Melbourne. My school in Perth continues on successfully under the direction of my instructors. I also have a connection with the Freestyle Karate and Muay Thai School in Yanchep WA under the direction of Dai Sempai Michael Borck. I regularly visit these schools to take classes and mentor the higher ranked students.

As a promoter I have staged the current Muay Thai World Champion Bruce "Preacher" MacFie to Melbourne on a number of occasions to do various seminars throughout Victoria.

Other qualifications I hold are; First Aid Certificate, Occupational Health and Safety Representative, Live WKA Ringside Commentator, Registered World Karate and Kickboxing Instructor, Sports Promoter and Recreational Pilots Licence
